Nina Åström

Nina Åström is a singer/songwriter from Finland, married to Benni, mother of two
grown-up daughters. MA (English philol.), worked in around 20 countries during
some 20 years.
Numerous TV and radio appearances, represented Finland in the Eurovision Song
Contest in 2000. In the more recent years concerts in prisons, especially in Russia.
Her new album “The way we are” was released earlier this year.

Since beginning her cello studies at age 6 in the Nurmijärvi Music School in Klaukkala, Finland, Pauliina Pölönen has since been featured as soloist with the Nurmijärvi Camerata and the Helsinki Concordia Chamber Orchestra in Helsinki and Berlin. A member of Timo Hanhinen’s studio at the Sibelius Academy, Ms. Pölönen has participated in master classes throughout Scandinavia, USA and Central Europe with many acclaimed artists including Frans Helmerson and Niels Ullner. She is a founding member of the international Halo Ensemble and an experienced orchestral musician, having worked with conductors such as Esa-Pekka Salonen and Okko Kamu. Ms. Pölönen performs on a Copenhagen Hjorth cello of 1898.
